Clwydian Vale Welsh Meats

Clwydian Vale Welsh Meats, the start!

In the early Naughties, David, who is passionate about farming, was looking to diversify and promote his home-bred Welsh farmed produce. Prompted by a friend, David spotted a direct to market opportunity for lamb from the family run farms in North Wales to London restaurants.   With David’s passion for Wales and the quality of his produce, it did not take long to convince many of the capital’s finest chefs that David’s lamb needed to be on their menus.

Proud to Support Help for Heroes

In February of 2011 both Alex and David were proud to be involved with Welsh farms in supporting the Help for Heros charity http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ the military charity that looks after wounded soldiers. Welsh farmed lamb was supplied for the Help for Heroes Dinner in the Great Banqueting Hall, Whitehall.

Previously we donated the main course of lamb for a charity dinner for Help for Heroes, Veterans Aid and British Legion in February 2010.

Countryside Alliance Award 2009

David’s lamb picked up the 2009 Local Food Award in the Countryside Alliance competition and went  forward to the UK wide grand final at the House of Lords on February 3. The awards celebrate the characters, skills, traditions and enterprise of the countryside and its people.

Unfortunately, David’s lamb just missed out on the National Award but was proud to be selected as regional finalist and to participate in such a prestigious event.  Clwydian Vale Welsh Meats continue to celebrate the quality of our product and friendly service that we offer and  continue with enthusiasm promoting the quality of Welsh family farmed produce.

Lamb provided by the Clwydian Vale used as Main Course at G-20 Summit

Clwydian Vale procured lamb provided the show piece main course at the London G-20 Summit 2009.  The Clwydian Vale lamb, served with simple flat bread and the strong flavoured English herb and wild garlic main course, was devised by renowned chef Jamie Oliver.

The leaders of G-20, including Barack and Michelle Obama, dined at Number 10 Downing Street after an earlier reception at Buckingham palace.   Jamie, an original supporter of Welsh farmed lamb, has featured David’s farmed lamb in an episode of his “Jamie at Home” Channel 4 series.
